If we count on celebs for one thing (besides, you know… drama) it’s naming their kids after random objects. Apple, Blue Ivy, Cricket… the list goes on and on.
Which is why it’s fitting that athlete Usain Bolt – aka the fastest man alive – just announced his baby daughter’s moniker: Olympia Lightning Bolt.
Worth noting: the 33-year-old Olympian’s long-term partner Kasi Bennett actually gave birth back in May, but the couple decided to keep the name under wraps. They also refrained from sharing pictures of her with fans. Until yesterday, that is.
Via Instagram, Usain shared a gallery of images to celebrate Kasi’s birthday and mark Olympia Lightening’s debut on the ‘Gram. In the pics, the 30-year-old can be seen posing in a floor-length cream gown and cradling the bub in her arms.
“I want to wish my gf @kasi.b a happy birthday and To let u know I am happy I get to spend ur special day with u,” he captioned the post. “I want nothing but happiness for u and will continue to doing my best keeping a smile on ur face. Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family. I Love you and happy 21th birthday ???.
So far, the response has been pretty positive, with many praising the couple for being so bold with the name.
“Best name of 2020 by far,” one wrote.
“Better than Elon musk baby named X Æ A-Xii,” added another.
