Kim K is no stranger to controversy but her latest ad for KIMADE has fitfluencers pretty annoyed.
The reality show star’s ad for Alani Nutrition – who create drinks, snacks and supplements to help you get fit – has been slammed for the unrealistic portrayal of a workout and for choosing Kim to partner with.
The campaign pictures feature Kim in a white bathing suit, heels and a diamond necklace with perfectly blown out hair and a full face of makeup as she lifts two baby weights while sat on a bench.
We don’t know about you, but that’s not what we look like when we hit the gym. We’re dripping with sweat, makeup-free and in a sports bra and leggings that we are trying to get one extra wear out of before throwing in the wash.
Well, fitness influencers have taken to Instagram to give us a healthy dose of Insta versus reality, slamming Kim in the process.
Emily Muir, known as em.powered on the site, posted some realistic side-by-side shots of her doing the same exercises as the Kardashian – and the difference was pretty clear.

She wrote: ‘We all know this is a photoshoot BUT I just feel like there’s 1000’s of coaches driving home to get women to train without being self conscious and we end up back to square one with one person.
‘Please remember girls, the gym is for mental and physical growth no one gives a f**k what you look like!
‘P.s can’t wait to wear me diamond necklace and white cozzy to train legs tomorrow’.
Her followers were quick to praise her for ‘keeping it real’ and helping women to feel less self-conscious when working out.
One wrote: ‘These are brilliant!! Insta vs reality in its truest form. Fab as always.’
Another added: ‘Absolutely love this! You’re definitely killing it and the facial expressions are OP!! Keep keeping it real.’
Fitness influencer Laura Hoggins, known as Laura Biceps, also took to Instagram to comment on the post.
She wrote: ‘Sorry Kimmy, move over love, we’ve had enough of your chat (other lifters are available).’
Another fitness account tgpt_fitness wrote: ‘Don’t lift like a Kardashian! Lift like Laura Biceps.’
Many took to Kim K’s original post with Alani to highlight they felt Kim was the wrong choice for the campaign.
Another wrote: ‘Really @alaninutrition with many moms out there hustle to get that sweaty workout done and grabbing those heavy food shopping bags’, while another simply said: ‘So many fitness creators y’all could’ve picked and you went with the Kim?’
One commenter even suggested that Khloe Kardashian would have been a better fit for the campaign.
We’ve contacted Kim K’s reps and Alani Nutrition for comment and will update this article if we hear a response.
