Vitamin D deficiency: Dr Amir warns spine could shrink if you lack the sunshine vitamin

Not exercising enough, getting enough shuteye, or being deficient in vitamin D could cause the spine to shrink, Dr Amir warned this morning. Why is this so? Vitamin D helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorous, which helps to strengthens the bones. Without an adequate supply of the sunshine vitamin – which is also available from foods and supplements – the chance of osteoporosis increases.
