Coronavirus: Previous sufferers can catch new strain says expert
Officially approved in early December, the first vaccine available in the UK market – Pfizer-BioNTech – can now be administered to pregnant and breastfeeding women, although this is case dependent. Other updates have also been rolled out.
During a press conference on Wednesday, December 30, it was announced clinical guidance on the Pfizer-BioNTech jab has been updated.
The Commission on Human Medicine stated pregnant and breast-feeding mothers need to discuss the benefits and risks of taking the coronavirus vaccine with their healthcare professional.
A decision on whether or not to have the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine should be reached based on individual circumstances.
