Ugh, trolls gonna troll, and they love trolling Chrissy Teigen for just about anything. On Tuesday, Teigen shared what we thought was a totally relatable mom moment — kids crashing into the room while you are trying to get dressed and/or take a sexy selfie — but apparently not everyone thought it was so awesome. In the Instagram pic, the mom of Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, is topless, wearing only shapewear on her bottom half, black platform heels, and gold jewelry. Stealing the scene, though, is Miles, who is hugging his mom’s legs while looking like the tiny twin of dad, John Legend. And the caption slays: “please move, mommy is trying to be thirsty.”

Of course, the trolls leapt out from under the troll bridges to call the photo “weird” and “inappropriate” and suggested Teigen needs “better boundaries.”

Of course, Teigen takes absolutely no mom-shaming and responded perfectly to her critics on Instagram. First, she kindly suggested “everyone mad can reply here so I can just block you in one area.”
And then she delivered the drop-dead line, commenting: “Wait til [they] find out we take baths together.”
True story. Last Christmas, Teigen shared on Instagram an adorable picture of herself looking smitten while sandwiched between Miles and Luna in a pristine white bathtub.

Reactions to that photo were mostly positive, which was a minor miracle. In the past, photos of celebrity parents bathing with their kids have been highly controversial. In 2012, mom-shamers went into overdrive after Gwyneth Paltrow admitted to Harper’s Bazaar that she bathed with her elementary school-aged kids, Apple and Moses. Three years later, commenters accused Perez Hilton of child abuse after he posted a photo of himself in the shower with his then 2-year-old son.
Of course, bathing with your kids is totally fine. One, it’s a perfect opportunity to teach age-appropriate awareness of the human body and body acceptance. Two, it lays the foundation for healthy sex education and the concept of consent. “If the parental nudity is non-sexualized,” licensed psychotherapist and marriage and family counselor Shirin Peykar told SheKnows, “there shouldn’t be psychological effects on a child, especially if you’re all on the same page, are all consenting and are all comfortable with it.”
These celebrity moms make us all feel better when they share the highs and lows of parenting.
